George Hutchison

George Hutchison, P.L.Eng., AScT., CGC-CD

George is the Owner of CURA and is a Licensed Member of the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC), and he specializes as a Mechanical Building Systems Engineer.  He is a proven industry professional who has practiced since 1990 with proven consulting engineering and practical problem-solving experience.  His diverse experience set includes heavy industrial, commercial and institutional facilities and his many competencies include fire protection, HVAC, dust collection, forensics, expert witness services, public speaking, conducting and facilitating formal training seminars, leading and facilitating consultative workshops, studies, detailed design, specification writing, facility inspections, non-destructive testing and commissioning.

George has an extensive background in dust collection and explosion hazard mitigation, ambient and medium temperature district energy, fire protection, HVAC, plumbing, piping, steam systems, open and closed loop geothermal, piping services design and wastewater odour control.

George is an avid outdoorsman and gardener who enjoys skiing, hiking, camping, fishing, tennis, golf and biking in his spare time.  George also supports community groups through his current volunteer efforts at the Sovereign Lake Nordic Club; and in the past has volunteered on the executive of JCI Vernon, the North Okanagan Sailing Association, and a Strata Council.

Peter Meadowcroft

Peter Meadowcroft
CAD Technician

Peter is our resident 2D and 3D CAD expert and he has worked in the AEC industry since 1982.  He has been using AutoDesk’s suite of products extensively since the mid 1990’s.  He has a diversity of drafting, design and illustrating experience in the piping and industrial fields, HVAC, P&ID, Structural and Electrical disciplines.

In his spare time Peter is an expert woodworker, and he also builds his own CNC machinery from designs he has personally created.

Laurie Vanderhorst

Laurie Vanderhorst, CPA
Accountant

Laurie oversees finance at CURA Engineering Solutions, and she has approximately 15 years of accounting experience.  In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, her children and grandchildren, hiking with her dog Zeke, and her volunteer community involvements with the local dental access clinic and her church.
