Purpose & Core Values
Message from the Owner
CURA is the Latin word for “care”. The name embodies the values I have developed in the three decades I have devoted to the engineering industry. Client Care is paramount to my philosophy and a driving factor in my desire to establish my own firm. Owning my own firm allows the freedom to foster an environment for myself and staff which embodies my personal values of developing and maintaining long-lasting and mutually beneficial relationships with clients.
Client care includes a focus on treating everyone with respect. There are many different and competing viewpoints and stakeholders in any assignment. Each stakeholder must be respected and provided the opportunity to participate in the project lifecycle process.
Prior to launching CURA, I was a highly valued team member of two large multidisciplinary engineering companies both located in the Okanagan. I was also employed in the mechanical contracting industry as an estimator and project manager also in the Okanagan. Finally, I worked for a medium-sized Mechanical Engineering firm in Vancouver. Respectively, my tenure in the organizations were nineteen years, two years, and six years.
During these three decades, I realized that working within a smaller focused firm and team was the manner in which I could realize my personal commitment to client-centric relationships. Thus, I left the confines of multidisciplinary organizations and launched CURA. CURA is better able to serve the needs of our clients because we are focused on providing specialized engineering services.
CURA has a small, technical and focused team which remains with our clients throughout the project lifecycle. I maintain a close personal involvement with every client account and focus on delivering solutions and results.
