International Forest Products (Interfor) – Adams Lake Division – New Continuous Dry Kiln (CDK) Fire Protection

CURA provided a complete fire protection design package for this new 188’x35’ thermal-oil heated continuous dry kiln that was installed at the Adams Lake lumber division of Interfor, featuring an interconnection with the site’s thermal oil plant and a two-pass lumber dry kiln consisting of an operating level and fan deck level.

Dry and deluge fire protection systems were designed to FM Global’s standards, with all sprinkler heads discharging in the demand calculations.  Complete fire protection shop drawings were provided to the installing contractor including pipe sizing, bracing, piping support, thermal expansion loops, and seismic restraint details.
