Kootenay Lake Hospital HVAC *

A major expansion project at the Kootenay Lake Hospital to add a new Diagnostic Imaging (DI) and Emergency Room (ER) was completed, and during the commissioning and turnover process a number of HVAC system operational concerns arose.  Mr. Hutchison was engaged to perform an expert’s design review of the HVAC system as well as a review of the installation, to determine the root cause of the HVAC system’s pre-turnover concerns.

A review of the HVAC system was completed as well as interviews with staff, trades and design consultants.  Instructions for modifications to the HVAC system were issued expeditiously, construction of the modifications was completed, and the project was turned over to the health authority for occupancy.
