Tolko Industries Corporate Office Building *

Mr. Hutchison acted as the partner in charge of engineering services for the design of a new 60,000 ft2 head office facility for Tolko Industries, Canada’s largest privately held forest products company.

Engineering services provided to the project included:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Energy Consulting Services
• Electrical Engineering
• Structural Engineering
• Civil Engineering/Site Works

The HVAC systems designed for the facility include a tilting heat-pipe exhaust energy recovery system, 4-pipe fan coils, and a LEED-Silver equivalent energy utilization index.

The project was very enjoyable to design because the client’s prior office space was assembled from various adjacent buildings and work spaces in downtown Vernon and the client placed a premium on designing a high quality HVAC system that provided accurate temperature control and ventilation for their approximately 180 staff occupants of the facility.
