Wood Innovation Design Centre Fire Protection Engineering *

Mr. Hutchison performed the detailed fire protection engineering design and shop drawing production for this 8-storey iconic building in downtown Prince George, BC.  The facility was a world-first using cross-laminated-timber (CLT) construction for an 8-storey commercial office building.

The facility required extra attention to fire protection design details given the wood construction, potential for combustible voids created by the CLT construction method, and because of the facility’s iconic architectural design.
